I lived in Egypt for my dads job my sophomore year of high school. I hated the school but loved the country. The people are so friendly and everything is just so historic. I loved it. I would try to visit the Khan el Kahlili Bazaar lots of old shops with cool things to buy it goes back about 500 years. Visit the pyramids and the Citadel, if you can visit the Egyptian Museum and go to Luxor where King Tuts mummy is and the Sinai. And if you have time and feel like you need a touch of paradise try going to Beni Suef, Hurghada or Sharm el sheik, they are absolutely beautiful resorts. Great for snorkeling to! Oh, and beware of traffic, very congested people honk for no reason! You'll love it that's where you should visit! Hope I helped!

I first went to Egypt in 1998 and ever since then I visit at least once a year. It is a great country, lots to do and tons of stuff to see, there is no boring moment there.
I also need to emphasise that despite popular belief, Egypt is very safe. I never had or heard of any tourist facing a threat, being mugged, killed etc. People are friendly and the country is safer than any place I have been to.
Go for a Nile cruise between Luxor & Aswan, it is the trip of a life time. You get to see most of the ancient egyptian monuments and amazing small cities and towns.
If you are more of a party animal, go to Sharm el sheikh where the nightlife makes Ibiza look small and the best diving in the world.
Go 4 it, u will thank me later :)

it's nice but you have to have a guide with or someone Egyptian you know so that they can show you the beautiful places in Egypt also stay in a good hotel 5 stars because less than that you will not be impressed ..you won't spend much money it's not a luxurious country but be aware because many people may fool you and take much money

If you want to do a cruise from Luxor to Aswan or Aswan to Luxor you might want to go on an OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel) cruise. The groups are small and you have an Egypt resident to ask questions. they also can take you on tours that you would not normally get to do, like Abu Simbal, because it is too far out of the way.

You'll have a lovely time. Just be sure to bargain before you make a final purchase. Better yet, get prices from several different vendors. One will be happy to beat the other's price. When you go to Giza, check out the papyrus store.
