I am about a month and a half pregnant and I wnat to know when I ca go for a sonar. I understand it too small to show right now.

I had my 1st one when I was 6 week along, then I had them monthly until the birth of my daughter.

Usually you get your 1st sonar when your about 12weeks unless you are really ill in early pregnancy or have history of miscarriages. I had mine last week and i'm 13weeks baby will be due on valentines day(very romantic haha).

I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks to see how far along I was but you can't tell anything like the sex of the baby until 3 months.

star.. that sounds like some propaganda that the HMO's put out there so that they don't have to pay for them.
Usually they do one when you are about three months along, sooner if they think that there is a problem. Ask your doctor the next time that you are in for a checkup

To see the baby well usually 12 weeks but can be done earlier if there are suspected problems

if you are talking about a ultrasound/sonogram they can do them at your first doctors appointment. I was 3w4d with my third child when they did his first one. i was 6w5d or so with my first child when they did it.
my second child dont count cause i couldnt get anyone to belive i was pregnate until i was 23 weeks. (the baby kicked the doctor when he touched my belly!! he turned to me and said yup your pregnate want to know what it is?) my husband bout fell over. and his mom had to see the sonogram pictures to prove it to her that i was. I had known i was since like week 4 but every one told me i was crazy that i just felt that way cause i had just givin birth a month before. shows who knows my body best huh!

If everything is ok in your pregnancy you have an ultrasound when you are between 19 and 22 weeks usually.

you can have an internal scan, which is a little uncomfortable, but your right to have a normal scan your baby is too small, usually after 10 weeks you get the normal dating scan

They now say that those aren't healthy for the baby and should only be done in case of medical need. Getting a picture of your little fetus isn't a need. If you need it, your doctor will request it.
