I am still waiting for a debit card to come in the mail from the checking account that I recently got. So can I open an account without a debit card, atm card or credit card?
So far I only have Checking and paypal accounts

The only thing about the .edu, I have a college email, it is just that I wanted to start a new email just for ebay, a new gmail account. If I make an account with my .edu email, can I switch the email in the account after I make it?

To register for the first time:
Click the “Register” link at the top of most eBay pages.
Note: To register as a business instead of as an individual, click the “register as a business” link. (See Registering as a Business to learn more.)
Enter your name, address and phone number.
Enter your date of birth.
Enter your email address. Be sure to enter an email address that you can check right away. ( you can use .edu email add)
Note: If you register using a Web-based (anonymous) email address, such as an email address from Yahoo! or Hotmail, you'll need to place a valid credit or debit card on file to verify your identity. Your card will be used for identification only and will not be charged. If you don't want to place a credit or debit card on file, you'll need to register with an email address from a company or paid Internet Service Provider, such as AOL. Learn more about Providing Identification for Registration.
Read the eBay User Agreement and Privacy Policy then select the I agree to the following check box.
Click the Continue button.
Choose your User ID and password.
Choose a secret question.
Click the Continue button.
Check your email for a message with a link and instructions for confirming your registration. Haven’t received your registration email yet?
Open your registration email and click the link. A registration confirmation message displays.
If you've done this but nothing happens, do the following:
Find your confirmation code near the bottom of the registration email.
Enter your confirmation code in the specified box (if it isn't already entered for you).
If your email is not already displayed on this page, be sure to enter the email address you originally registered with, and then click the Continue button.

Yes of course. If you have a company or university or whatever email addresses (ending with *.edu, *.com, *.org, etc) and NOT the free email such as Yahoo, Hotmail, or Gmail, you can register to eBay.
What you can do is put your valid company email AND your valid phone number in the registration form, because eBay will call you to verify your email and phone number and then give you an activation code for you to be able to use your new eBay account.
Hope this helps!

Yes you can use a debit/credit card for ebay, as long as your card has been activated for internet purchases. I would not recommend using a credit/debit card for ebay itself. I would just use it for pay pal. Ebay and paypal will require credit card verification if using a web based email. However, ebay is raising their rates and changing their policy for merchant web sites.

With PayPal, you only need a checking account.
www.paypal.com
They are owned by eBay.
Look for a free checking account deal, don't go into debt. Credit cards are to tempting and it is a cycle that will break you. It is legal loan sharking.

eBay is the largest online marketplace and one of the most popular ways to earn an income from home with a PC and internet connection. Selling on eBay is inexpensive and easy to start. Ebay has a number of tools for sellers to maximise sales. These are eBay Pulse, Hot items report, merchandising calendar. By sourcing products at a low price, you can increase your profit. Ebay and PayPal are sort of linked...if you have a PayPal account already, you can use that to pay for Ebay purchases...I thought Ebay was a free service, anyway...

I believe that you can use your debit card #, but you need to check with e-bay.
