It was really creepy, but I wouldn't say it's like Dawn of the Dead. Different somehow... The dead had a little more... menace and mystery about them.

Very good, by the way. Loved the ending, and I can't always say that about a SK book...

I thought "The Cell" was a good book - it brought me back to Stephen King after I had taken a break from him after reading the disappointing "From a Buick 8". It was kinda like the "Dawn of the Dead" without the re-animated dead folks.

The Cell is sort of like Dawn of the Dead, but the "zombies" in the book are not really dead - just brain-wiped. The whole sequence in the first chapter when the pulse first hits was actually written as an homage to Romero and his "Dead" movies - lots of over-the-top graphic violence. Shocking, but good reading.

You could say that about "The Cell" because they do come back to life. It made me scare of my cell phone for about a month. I read the book in a day and a half. I couldn't put it down. Well, I'll read anything Stephen King writes, after all, I'm his biggest fan!

Not exactly. Only in that they are zombie like, but otherwise, no.

It is a great book. Like the other answerer, I couldn't put it down and finished it in a day.

It was very well written and a great story idea.
