I'm so sorry to hear that you have been so sick :(
I found some info for you that I hope will help you re: Type 2 diabetes.
What do I do when I’m sick?
When you are sick you should test your blood glucose levels every two to four hours. It is very important that you continue to take your diabetes medication. High blood glucose levels often happen during flu season. Many cold remedies and cough syrups contain sugar – try to pick sugar free products. The pharmacist can help you make a good choice.
When you are sick it is VERY IMPORTANT that you:
Drink plenty of extra sugar-free fluids or water.
Replace solid food with fluids that have glucose if you can’t eat as usual. You should try to consume 10 grams of carbohydrate every hour.
Call your doctor or go to an emergency room if you vomit more than twice in 12 hours.
Continue to take your insulin, if you take insulin. You might need to take more than usual depending on your blood glucose levels.

You should not eat anything for several hours after vomitting. There is obviously a reason that food does not want to stay in your stomach. Give it a rest but chew ice chips or suck on popsicles to keep from getting dehydrated. I don't know anything about type 2 diabetes -- that sounds like something you should check out with your doctor.

Drink gatorade to restore your elecrolytes and to prevent dehydration. Believe it or not it may not upset your stomach as much as water might (plus is aids dehydration faster than water). Plain white rice is easy on upset stomachs as well as chicken broth, custards. Also try some Gastrolite in water.
Why have you been vomitting? See a doctor, you could have bowel inflamation.

Drink an electrolyte solution such as Equalyte (Pedialyte is the kids' version) to get you back in shape. Second choice would be Gatorade. Eat soda crackers and/or bread to absorb all the acid that's built up in your stomach. This combination is better than taking meds and it will cause you to burp and get that fast-needed relief! Good luck!

Drink a little gatorade, to help your body rehydrate.
Keep drinking small sips until you finish.
I've always eaten sliced yellow peaches after getting ill.
They go down pretty easily and the natural sugar helps me to feel a little better.

All the people that say they dogs choke on chicken bones need to teach their dogs better their dogs are just ignorant! My dog eat chicken bones all the time and he has been screened and NO there isn't any blood in his stool or chicken splinter in his throat or belly! infact if he breaks the bones and feel the the sharp splinter pieces he leaves them on the floor and I just throw them away. He plays regular and if he could talk I'm sure he would say that he absolutely love his life! and this is your dogs FIRST time with a bone he will be fine!

Sip some water slowly. That should help the dehydration. When you feel like you can eat, have bland foods, such as whole grain toast. That will help you feel better and also stabilize your blood sugar levels.
