i used to buy 1.0 mm mechanical pencils allllllll the time and they were everywhere even walmart...and this year i cant find them ANYwhere...only.9 mm ....im just wondering what the heck happened to 1.0 anyone know?

Ive used the 0.7 mm pencils for years.. I don't recall ever owning a 1.0mm ....

However, an art supply store would likely have them, or, perhaps someplace that caters to the drafting/engineering profession, or those schools, as mentioned in the above answer.

As I said, I don't recall ever owning a 1.0... the most common pencil right now, would be the 0.7... with the 0.5 being used by a lot of drafting students, I would think. Mass market....if there arent enough people buying it... it'll be relegated to special markets, or dropped altogether.

If you think about it , those are hardly used. Most consumers would rather 0.7 or 0.5. 0.3 hardly shows on paper and in my opinion 1.0 is just too think of a line to be made.

If u really want those, might as well go to a collage bookstore , they will have them there for sure.
