Brands.. hmm.. maybe u should look for the country of manufacture... usually those made in US,Europe and Japan are able preform better and more lasting.

Go for side loading stainless steel made inner drum with heating arrangement. IFB BOSCH is my known brand you may see but dont forget to take side loading not the top loading and the machine should have water heating arrangement.
