The liberals have shown their true stupidity on this question. The two they arrested in Ohio had several different stories why they bought them so they were detained but prosecuters didn't have enough proof.
You f*ckin liberals better wake up before you are blown up, and get a freakin brain.

In the arrests they said the cell phones can be used to detonate bombs. Since we are talking about 800 phones in one case and about 1000 in another, I'm thinking that would be a lot of bombs. Maybe it is just their communications network.
However, I understand there is a lot going on. One paper said something about a miles long suspension bridge.

And it's been determined in each of those cases that the people buying the phones had no links to terrorism, and all terrorism related charges have been dropped by the government.
Stop buying into the hype and the fear-mongering. When the big one comes, we won't have any warning.
{EDIT} Thanks for being one of the first to cross the line into saying people are guilty until proven innocent, just based on their religion. You're actually sitting there advocating "innocent until proven Muslim". It was only a matter of time that we started seeing calls to throw out the entire rest of the constitution. Bravo.
And in case you don't understand the concept, anything electronic with battery can be used as a detonator. Any digital watch or electronic clock or radio or baby monitor would work just as well.

Oh I can hear the libs now, 'oh they have a right to talk to their friends too'. Heads in the sand and won't wake up till somewhere in the US is turned into glass.
And for all you libs worried about our freedoms being taken away, yes I think these phones should be pulled off the market and not sold. But you would not understand if I tried to give you the reasons why. If it ain't obvious to you what this question is getting at, you don't get it. Surprise surprise.

I am sure the practioners of the religion of peace merely wanted to contact their families. In some cases I also find that I need at least 80 cell phones to call my Mom and Uncle Joe.

No one is going to be arrested for purchasing a cell phone. It is a pattern that the investigators are looking for.

Those guys were caugt with 1000 cell phones in their van and claimed they were just going to resale them even though they had thrown away the chargers and instructions. So you never know.

It is part of the security measures the homeland security is currently doing to protect millions of american, whether Republicans, Liberals or Democrats. Don't worry about it, they are just doing their job to contineously identify and arrest those who are undermining the security and stability of america. As a citizen, we can contribute to their effort in terms of cooperation and unity. Be vigilant.

the big one is definately coming! dont you kinda wonder what would have happened had the terrorists in London not been caught? they were targeting 3 airlines (all american owned) and US bound flights...
they need to quit being babies and just come out and tell us what the big issue is.. there was no war until they friggin started it!
