Heart attack symptoms for men and women

Common heart attack symptoms and warning signs may include:

Chest discomfort. This discomfort or pain can feel like a tight ache, pressure, fullness or squeezing in the center of your chest lasting more than a few minutes. These feelings may come and go.
Upper body pain. Pain or discomfort may extend beyond your chest to your shoulders, arms, back, neck, teeth or jaw. You may have upper body pain without any chest discomfort.
Stomach pain. Pain may extend downward into your abdominal area.
Shortness of breath. You may pant for breath or try to take in deep breaths. This often occurs before you develop chest discomfort.
Anxiety. You may feel a sense of doom or feel as if you're having a panic attack for no apparent reason.
Lightheadedness. You may feel dizzy or feel like you might pass out.
Sweating. You may suddenly break out into a sweat with cold, clammy skin.
Nausea and vomiting. You may feel sick to your stomach or vomit.

Heart attack symptoms in women

Women may experience all, none, many or a few of these common symptoms of a heart attack. For women, as for men, the most common symptom of a heart attack is some type of pain, pressure or discomfort in the chest. But women are more likely than men to also have signs and symptoms unrelated to chest pain, such as:

Neck, shoulder, upper back or abdominal discomfort
Shortness of breath
Nausea or vomiting
Sweating
Lightheadedness or dizziness
Unusual or unexplained fatigue

I had no symptoms... But my second one I just had my right arm pit hurting like I over did it on the monkey bars. My last one was a 10 pointer (Very Bad one) and the pinching under the arm along with the elephant sitting on my chest really hurt, I was in the hospital for a month with that one.
You just can't tell how much damage is being done with a "minor" or a "major" heart attack you need to go to the hospital or call 911 with either one.

there's no such thing as a 'minor' heart attack

chest pain, usually a dull crushing pain in the substernal region varying in intensity, often radiating to the left arm or into the upper back

nausea, vomiting, cold sweat, shortness of breath

any kind of chest pain that comes on suddenly (NOTE: suddenly) should be checked out immediately.

If you've been having pain in your chest for a week, you're not having a heart attack.

edit: it's not in the right side, it's in the left... the heart's not on the right side mr. medical tech

Shortness of breath, a crumbling sharp pain that spreads from your chest to your left shoulder and arm.
Get help quickly, because at this time, your heart muscles are crying out for oxygen as it can't continue pumping that blood out to your other parts of the body. You need immediate pain relief which is Morphine.
Most of the patients who had a heart attack says it's really like the end of the world for them.

Shortness of breath, pain down left arm, tightness in chest. If you think you have or are having a heart attach call 911 immediately. You only have one chance to live, don't mess with it. Better safe than sorry!!

there is such thing as a "silent" MI also.......

Nausea/Vomiting.......also symptoms above.
I see this all the time(Paramedic), I've seen a LOT of pain that turned out to be other things....lung problems, etc...

Don't disregard any chest pain! Go to ER or call medics to check you out. You can always refuse to go.......after they run a 12 lead on you.

"crumbling CP"???? wow, MONA is what is prescribed... not in that order.......morphone, O2, NITRO!!!!!, Aspirin!!!!!
