when you get into a HOT bath it elivates your internal temperture. if this temperture goes too high too fast it can cause issues with your baby.
I would ask your doctor the reasons why he doent want tyou to take a hot bath next visit. they can give you more details about it.
and make it easier for you to understand.
until then enjoy not so hot baths you dont have to take cold ones just not scorching hot ones ok.

When I had my first they said NO HOT BATHS with my current pregnancy no one has said anything. Its like the old question, Tummy or back? because it changes every few years.
What they ARE worried about is that you will raise your temperature too much, if you take baths that are so hot your legs are red you should def. tone down the temp. What drs don't want is for you to raise your body temperature to an unsafe temp for baby.

Yes, because the 1st trimester is the most crucial and a hot bath raises your temperture as well as your core temp. You dont want that getting too high since its almost essentially cooking the baby (well not really but you know what I mean!) As you progress and the baby is well formed you can take a nice bath but dont make them scalding!!
Good Luck :-)

How it was explained to me is that the rise in body temp could cause distress for your baby. I had to give up the hot baths, but for the sake of my baby, I think it was well worth it.

In general, it is not good to elevate your body temperature too high for too prolonged a time when you're pregnant because it can adversely affect the fetus. This is why in pregnancy it is recommended not to go into a hot tub or sauna for longer that 15-20 minutes.

yes. If your body temp rises too high it can affect devolpment, or even kill your baby. It is important to follow your dr's instructions. With the aches and pains that come with pregnancy, they wouldnt take hot bathes away fro us unless it was really important.

I love hot baths too, but they say it can raise your blood pressure and and it is easier to slip getting out while you are pregnant. try to knock the temp down a little and if you feel the least bit dizzy get out.

I honestly don't know all involved in that, but my cousin suggested I take hot baths near my due date, said something about it "bringing on labor", but I think it's an old wives tale.
