The USA is not trying to save the world.

We think that the world will be a safer place when all the vicious and murderous dictators have been unseated and the countries are being run by their people. A safer world means a safer America.

A country that is run by its people will be a safer place to live and it is unlikely that it will try to seize other countries.

The USA has been in quite a few "wars" Yet with the exception of people that voted to align with us, we have not taken the lands of others. After our soldiers have died, we have given conquered land back to its inhabitants. How many dictatorships have done that.

I served in Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom II. I was for Desert Storm, against invading Iraq, but I went.

Fact is, I would rather fight a war over seas, rather than my homeland, and also, we are always asked by the poor nations of the world to give them aid, because they cannot feed themselves. So, if these countries need our help, they need us to save them. If I did not live in the USA, I would try to move there, because we have the best of every thing. Any more questions?

I think because it has worked before. Look how much better we were after our civil war - no more slavery. Then after WW2, look how much better things became for the whole world. A lot of prosperity. Our main enemies in WW2 were helped by us, Japan and Germany became much more powerful countries economically than they were before the war and they are both our allies. England who we fought in Revolution is one of our best allies.
Strange huh.
Also America sees itself like a policeman, serving the public good by protecting and keeping the peace by taking out the criminals.
However our best was done by Ronald Reagan who built up our military to be the best by far and made us so strong he was able to defeat communism without even firing a shot. That was the best use of American power.
If Bush 1 had taken out Saddam during the first Persian Gulf War we would not be suffering from Muslim extremists now. They would have not been so angry with us. He did not go far enough then and now it's more like too little too late.

We do not believe we can save the world with war. We do not invade and conquer another country and make it part of our own. Look at history, for crying out loud. One thing is certain, if we waited for France, Germany and other "weenie" countries to act, or, for that matter, the United Nations, we'd all be in a lot worse mess.

We try and help everyone before we even help ourselves, we have thousands of people that aren't surviving or barely surviving but yet we can help all these other countries out. If you ask me I'm sick of it I'm sick of seeing people in the US fighting to survive because were helping other countries do you realize what would happen to the world if we weren't helping all these countries out? It would fall apart. And the weirdest part we are the ones that are retaliated against, doesn't make sense, you really shouldn't bite that hand that feeds you. Australia is another one that helps out other countries. We have all these illegal immigrants that are taking over jobs and there are people here that don't even have jobs because of illegal immigration. The US is not believed to save the world because of that were the case other countries would respect us alot more and alot of other countries don't.

If you meant USA-people,they were made to think so,which in a way is the truth-when USA financed scientists to develop technology and science etc.But if you think of politicians of the USA,they are wrong if they think they are saving the world by interfering into other governments policies.
Bombs are bombs and physical force doesn't mean higher intelligence.My country was bombed by NATO in 1999.

Peace can only be achieved when both sides want it. Right now, plenty of nations don't want peace with the United States....Iran, North Korea, and etc. They want to develop weapons of mass destruction....I've already seen what a couple of planes can do, I won't support standing by and watching terroristic enabling regimes like Iran to develop a nuclear weapon. I have a nine year old son...screw all the yellow bellies whom are ready to roll over and play dead for our enemies. Besides, study history...more peace has been achieved for mankind by the tip of a sword than by the tip of a pen....and that is a fact.

The USA doesn't gives a rats butt about "saving anyone," this whole thing is about economic gain. Just about everyone in the political arena made "MONEY" off this whole thing...and still are...oil companies (owned by Bush and a bunch of his cronies), power companies (most of them friends of Bush), the money trial is everywhere...please, try reading the Wall Street Journal or Newsweek.

Though the few of you who said power are close...because, Economic Strength is Power! (As egotistical as that sounds it has always been the mind set of America.)
