My kids all immediately became my best friends and still are - now that they are grown up the only thing that has changed is that somehow I have become the youngest and require both sound advice and constant protection from the evils of the world. Still, I have to say, there's something special about a three to five year old's smile that is hard to beat.

I enjoyed both of the boys the most after they were through their colic stage (older than1) and before they started high school (they knew everything at that age). However, as they got older any problems they had were always bigger, more urgent, and more expensive.

I enjoyed mine most until they got ALMOST old enough to date and then they thought they knew it all. But now I enjoy my grandchildren. Except for the ones who are ALMOST old enough to date!!!

Every precious moment but especially when they began to talk and say all kinds of cute things, and I like how they think they're so smart sometimes, but so innocent and transparent.
