Okay so Im going inon Monday to have the lump in my breast removed, can anyone answer me a couple questions please?? 1) What kind of pain am I looking at afterwards?? 2) Is there goin g to be A LOT of swelling & brusing? 3) What are the chances taht my breast will be smaller and/or deformed after(I have very small breasts) 4) If it is deformed/smaller what are the chances my insurance might pay for breast implants as part of reconstruction as I already know I will not emotionally handle a deformity well, this will indeed be entally stressfull to me. Any other info you can give me would also be GREATY appreciated. Thanks So much, Im VERY nervous about this whole thing.

A lumpectomy is when you have cancer and they are taking out a large chunk of tissue to get out all the cancer. The ones I see even in a b cup size the breast looks pretty normal afterword's.
A biopsy is when they remove a lump or take a small part of it for a look see under the microscope. If this is the case the scar is usually very small.
The surgery is considered minimal and the patient will usually go home the same day with ice packs.
Do not get implants - they will hide breast tissue and it will be very difficult to find anything. Implants have their own surgical complications and I am including the FDA website which will give you more insight.

It sounds like you are having a lumpectomy? If so, then there will be some pain afterwards, but I am sure you will have pain medication after the procedure. Lumpectomies only remove the lump on the breast, not the whole breast. Even though you have small breasts, there should be little to none of your breast removed other than the lump. There might be some swelling and tenderness afterwards, but that is to be expected after a surgical procedure. It will probably go away within a few days. Your breast will probably not be deformed at all, unless they would remove all or most of it, again, not something done with a lumpectomy. As for insurance, it depends on your plan. Good luck and god bless you!!

It is going to hurt, how much swelling and bruising you are going to have depends on how much you bleed normally. Usually it isn't that bad as the breasts aren't extremely vascular, but more fatty.
Also, will it be deformed? I don't know it depends on how big the lump is. Usually the insurance company will not pay for breast implants as a reconstruction for a lumpectomy.... however, they may pay for you to have this surgery done by someone in plastics.. check it out before you go under the knife in the first place.

Don't worry, it's not that bad. You'll be asleep. And when U wake
up, you may feel groggy from the anesthisia, but that's all. I had
a lump taken out my left breast. It was the size of a walnut, & it
was benign. But I wasn't even thinking about cancer at all. More
than likely UR Doc just wants to remove it, to be on the safe side
It doesn't hurt really. And UR boob will still match the other one.
They're like cysts really. So, rest assured....no pain at all.

I've had that done - and really it was not bad. I was glad when they removed the binding the next day - just because it was tight, but other than that - it was not bad.

There is no deformity. I have a small scar, but it is barely noticeable because it follows the shape of my nipple.

Good luck with everything.

Ok so now that we got that out of the way. Let me answer your question with a question. How would you feel about a guy who had one testicle 3x the size of the other? Whatever answer you give is the one you deserve for your question.

Sorry to hear about your lump : (

I will pray that it is benign & that
the incision will cause minimal pain
and minor cosmetic damage to breast.

Best Wishes for Good Health !
