I don't know how a 11 month old will react, but I took my 3 month old on a flight from Japan to San Fran, which is 11 hours. Before he turns 5 months he will have been on 12 flights, 4 of which are across the Pacific. All I can say is 1)pay for the second seat for the child *ie, don't lap sit, it's horrible 2) bring plenty of food, diapers etc. *enough diapers for 1 per hour 3) hide some of her favorite toys for acouple weeks before the flight, and take them on the flight. Chances are, she will have forgotten about them and will spend time playing with them again. 4)Don't try anything new during this time *ie now is not the time to start her on anything she is not use to, food or behavior. The flight is not the time to make any stands against your child for waiting to eat something unhealthy. 5) Always have someone waiting at the end of the flight that can deal with your child while you sleep, because you will need to recover!
Good luck!!

I did the same with my daughter to visit the in-laws. To prevent the ears from popping give your baby a bottle as the plane is ascending and descending. To keep them entertained bring snacks, books and toys.
For snacks I recommend cheerios and small pick up foods. At 11 months these should be ok.
A good read for kids I suggest Fox in Sox by Dr. Seuss.

i've got achieved it the two techniques - with a small infant you're possibly extra useful off purely protecting it. as quickly as we flew for a week long Christmas holiday purely a pair months until now my daughter grew to become 2, we've been given her her very own seat and used a automobile seat in it (you may ought to apply a automobile seat for the infant - you may desire to no longer purely strap it into the seat next to you). generally this became because of fact she became so large i could no longer see having her on my lap the whole holiday, and because renting carseats (we've been renting a automobile) became extraordinarily high priced. We flew Northwest and that they did provide us a 0.5-fee ticket because of fact she became decrease than 2 (this became 2 years in the past however). final year I flew with my son for a visit and that i purely enable him take a seat on my lap. We took a automobile seat besides and purely checked it, yet that became plenty much less stressful (donning a carseat down the narrow airline aisles is extremely perplexing). He became purely 11 months previous on the time and slept lots of the time and it worked out nicely.

Hmm, feed her. Hopefully she will have a full tum and maybe snooze a bit. She will probably be quite entertained watching out the window and staring at everyone in the plane. Take books, if she likes them.

Perhaps they shouldn't take the baby with them in the first place. A long trip will be very tireding for all of them and they won't have the time to enjoy France.
