I have this friend, actually she's my officemate. We've been friends for almost a year now. She's 25 and until now, she got no boyfriend, no social life, no whatever. Would you believe, she still watch chinese cartoons after work. I tried tagging her along when I go out with my other friends but they find her weird. She's nice...I mean she's way toooo nice. Plus she needs a complete makeover. To make things worse, she easily gets offended over small things so I'm scared I might hurt her feelings if I tell her she needs some haircut or something. I pity her and I want to help her but i don't know how.

You mean well, but unless she starts putting out an effort to get out there and meet people, you won't be able to make much "progress" with her. It has to be something she want's to do, it needs to be her idea to get out there and change and whatnot. You sound like a very caring person and if you want to be her friend, accept her as is and if she asks for help to change, be there for her. It should be her decision.

I think its great that you want to help her, but you can't help her if she doesn't want, or think she needs help (even though she does). You might want to try telling her a picture of a haircut or clothes in a magazine would look good on her, or tell her how much you like a certain product...like "wow, those crest whitestrips work" or "I love the new Bobbi Brown stuff for fall." Good luck, but don't go overkill because it might push her farther away.
