Your parents can offer to pay as your birthday gift from them to you.. but they dont really have to!
Most of the time when we go out on someones birthday, we all go dutch when paying except the birthday boy/girl.... as a treat on their birthday, they just eat and dont pay hee hee
or you can have a small get together at your house, backyard or so... making a theme, like jeans party, or summer bash party.... and serve finger food, drinks, and cake... if you want some ideas on finger food;
veggies with dipping sauces
nachos and salsa
mini chicken sandwiches
mini burgers
french fries
chicken wings
mozzarella sticks
kabobs
cupcakes
shrimp cocktail
Or you can have a BBQ get together, hotdogs, burgers and french fries... and of course your birthday cake
Happy Sweet 16 in advance... hope it all goes so well for you

Have a huge bar-b-que in the back yard and invite all your friends and some age appropriate family members. Get out the CD's or hire a DJ for a couple of hours. Get aunts to fix salads,ie, potato salad, mac. salad, and maybe some tuna salad. Ask mom to get other family members to contribute food. Cook burgers, hot dogs, etc.
Your 16th is supposed to be a joyful occasion.
Have a wonderful day and it won't cost as much as the restaurant.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!!!!

I don't know which country u r from.. but depends on tradition.... The friend that I have from India and bangladesh..... they invite us to a restaurent or at their house for party and they pay for everything.
But here, when I am with my friends who are European (Germany, Bulgaria, UK) we know we all are students and cannot effor to pay for everyone.. so we share the price as much as possible.
Now American tradition..... I have no idea how that works....

Go to the movies or give a party. Remember it is your birthday and you are to receive gifts not give them a gift by paying for their food.

A group of friends and I are going to brunch for our birthdays and we pay each our own and the guest does not pay. We divide between us.. We've been doing this for years. I don't think it would be fair to your parents to pay for the group.

I agree with Mary don't break the bank over a b-day party. save it for your wedding or college.
