Because republicans love to talk tough, as long as it's someone else who has to do the actual fighting. That's why I call them (and their fans) Neo-Cowards.

Why does this circumstantial, historically inconsistent, and totally irrelevant piece of data impress you so much?

If I made the same argument 12 years ago, favoring Republicans, you would say that it's a completely irrelevant piece of trivia, and completely unrepresentative of the armed forces, and otherwise useless to bring up as a relevant piece of information in a political discussion.

Did you know there are more men than women in Congress? I guess that means the population of the United States is about 95% male, right?

Ridiculously ineffectual, inconsistent, logical nonsequitors will not help your case for the Democrats, except with people who are irrational.

And by the way, they are already Democrats.
(Ok, low blow... but it's only a joke. Loosen up.)

I could give you a very good reason why two of them are "veterans"....but you wouldn't believe it anyway. Such a flimsy point one could say almost anything to refute it. How about because most of the republicans that served are still serving rather than trying to capitalize off a history of contrived heroism motivated by political ambition?

my guess would be, that more republican politicians come from upper class homes so they don't typically join the military. (massive pay cut, lol)
Where as more democrats come from middle to upper/lowerclass homes, and the military is a better option for them.
Not true in all cases of course.

Because those crazy liberals never thought to have their daddys get them soft cushy desk jobs in the states, or let them wander from base to base like a gypsy.

What a crazy idea to actually serve huh? Maybe some of them were protecting DER HOMELAND , keeping it safe from the Vietnamese Insurgency.

i somehow doubt it's a coincidence, as the guy before me claims. not sure why more democrats served, but it sure makes those republicans look like jackasses!
