Judith Guest's "Ordinary People". I see those interactions in my life though mine's a way happier one. The movie was horrible though! Don't see the movie especially. I was so dissapointed because that wasn't how I saw that book. I guess it was something totally different for me. It was one of the first books I read before I had to move to another place. Yeah. It moved me so much and I would cry reading and being tested on it.
Whoa didn't see that second question there until now. Only one book in my life? hmm. How Things Work or maybe it's The Way Things Work...I can't remember the author right now. Cute little mammoths illustrate the text and it talks about laws of physics behind everyday mechanisms. The author is really good though.
I was going to say an encyclopedia but I'm pretty sure that you'll try to omit that one too. Atlas anyone?:

The Dave Pelzer Trilogy on how his mother severely abused him... There are three books so I guess that wouldn't count as one... In that case, I choose the last one (A Man Named Dave) Because it includes details of the past too. Good books you should read them when you get the chance if you haven't already.
