i am thinking about getting a tattoo?

Question

just a small one... on ankle or on hip.
can anyone tell me how it feels? anyone know what the ink is MADE of? (this kind of creeps me, more than anything, but since so many ppl have them, i figure the ink is safe)
any other details/ideas?

I have 5 tattoo's and am planning on getting another. The closest thing I can describe the pain as..imagine a bad sunburn and someone hits you. For me, it doesn't hurt much at all I have a high pain tolerance. Think carefully about what you want for a tat, its there forever unless you have laser surgery to remove it. I work with a tattooo artist, and spend a few extra dollars to get a one of a kind tatto. I don't like flash (that's what you will see on the walls at the parlor) 1000's of people in the country are walking around with the same thing you have.

Ok, if you go to a reputable tattooist, the ink will be fine. If your really concerned, ask the tattooist what the ink consists of. I can't help you on that one, but I can tell you how it feels from my point of view!
I got my first one last year on my shoulder & it felt awesome. It hurt a little when the needle hit the bone but otherwise I loved it!

I never had a tattoo, but my dad has had a couple of them, and he got it removed by laser surgery or whatever it's called. you're not "stuck with it for life" as whatwereyouthinking mentioned earlier. you can get it taken off and with no signs that it was ever there. but it's pricy and it hurts too, just like getting a tattoo hurts.

but anyway, i think a little tattoo on your ankle or hip wouldn't hurt THAT bad.. but then again i never got a tattoo, so I'm not even in place to say at all.

Well I really don't know what the ink is made from, but I do know that the more the meat the less it hurts. I have one on my calf did'nt hurt at all, them I have one on the top of my foot, that one hurt.. It kinda feels like your being scratched with a hot needle, but nothing that you can't handle it's kinda weird!

My newest tattoo is on my ankle. I have 3. This one hurt worse than my first one (on my right shoulder blade), but not at all compared to my second (on the back of my neck).

If you can manage to keep you're mind off of the sound, and on something positive...it can actually feel kinda good...Yes...I know, I'm a little twisted...but believe it or not, I actually kinda enjoyed my last one.

As for safety...just make sure you go to a reputable, clean shop...and you have nothing to worry about.

i have a small rose on my ankle, and yes it hurt, but looks good now..Just make sure they use a clean needle and put the ink in little cups..

mine didn't really hurt. more like annoying tapping feeling. It all depends on where you get it though because the more sensitive areas (feet, face, arms) usually hurt more though I hear.
The ink is safe, don't worry. DON'T get any sort of glowing ink though because that COULD cause cancer...it's really not that cool looking either.

It feels like a snake bite. Not the venamos kind, but the kind your big brother used to give you! It does'nt really hurt. It is more annoying than anything. They are very addicting.

I have one on my left shoulder blade....It hurts, but not that bad. Its something I think that everyone could stand without freaking out too much...and I don't really have a high pain tolerance...

dont get one....it's such a follow trend...it looks good at first then it bleeds into the skin....turns green... fades out.....and before you know it...you don't remember what it was.....after a while you see it's stuck with you.....and you can't do anything about it...i always wanted one myself...now i could care less....
