Given that red currently controls our government, wouldn't it make more sense for the blue to secede? I kind of agree. I dislike our current government. But I really think doing that would result in another civil war.
Cleveland...no offense, but I really find that interpretation to be horribly oversimplified. A single similarity does not a duplicate make.

The Red American's would continue to live in a country envisioned by the founding fathers without further need to defend the constitution from the distortions and corruption of liberal activists. Red America would rebuild great cities while enjoying personal rights and freedom.
The Blue Americans would find themselves with a socialist government almost overnight. Unemployment would skyrocket, taxes would skyrocket, and property rights would continue to deteriorate as their country enters a downward spiral toward communism. Blue America's once great cities would turn to slums, and rights and freedom will be traded away for an illusion of such, and the hopes of an unattainable utopia.

Why should the religious split from the non-religious? Doesn't make much sense.
The only reason I would want America split is because it's too big, and is currently the largest power in the world. I would like for it to be split in three parts; left, right, and middle, for it's protection. It'll stop some of teh hatred toward it, and also make each of the three sections elect presidents or kings(as they see fit) for themselves and each would increase in and of itself in defense and in orginization of govermental offices. Course, it could turn the matter worse as well... I just hope they allow communications/travel between the three.

I think we ought to combine the best from the blue, and the best from the red (scrapping the rest) and come up up with purple. The majority of the population is split right down the middle on most things anyway, so it would represent most of us more fairly.

It isn't that black and white (red and blue in this case).
If you made up a map of every political district in the US and overlayed the colors, it would generally look purple.

How will they survive. They can't think for themselves. They need the majority to think and help them.
