What paperwork would I need to fill out in both the United States and in the U.K.? How would I go about finding a host family or a place to live for 1-2 months? Please fill me in on all aspects of this adventure.

You should contact the respecitve embassies. They'll help you find host families or they'll tell you where to look. Also, they'll help with with visas, if you need one.

The first thing you need is a passport.But I'm sure you already knew that.Then you have to try get a working visa.That may take a while.You have to go get a physical,police clearance(they check your permanent record),& fill out some paper work.You may also try get a student visa but I think thats just if you want to study over there.If you want to do a foriegn exchange I think you have to be studying in that country.But that I'm not sure about so check that out.London is breath taking but I was very taken back by the ignorance of some of the people.Some were quite rude.If you want a tour of the place the best thing to do is get into a black cab.Those drivers know so much about the place.But may do you were the money is concerned.But good luck on your adventure.But remember don't trust anyone.

Hello,
You need a visa, depends on what travel you are planning on...business or personal....you need to apply for a visa in your country of residence. It depends because, if you are here in London to student you could have a student accomodation i haven't heard about any host family...probably if you are an Exchange student , which literally means another student would have to exchange places with you...
Whatever you decided take care and also be careful since you do not know anyone here i suppose, don't be too trusting .....
