Hi im mia and I am 14 years old i wanted to know is r&b good music i love it but my mom says it is bad music i want to listen to it so bad that some times i will take the keys from my mom's cadillac and turn on the car and listen to it I always adjust the driver's seat by reclining it all the way back that is the only way to relax from everything like school and all that stuff so tell me is r&b bad music?

I guess more important than if it's good or bad is if you like it. You obviously do so you should listen to it and enjoy it. Personally I don't care for it that much but that doesn't mean other people can't enjoy it.
From a purely technical and musical point of view it's not particularly good but then most modern music isn't - that's not to say it's not good to listen to. Classical music is the most technically brilliant but not many people chose to listen to it.
RnB is fairly harmelss unlike rap which can have a negative influence on people as it's often seen to be promoting violence, crime and gun culture.
Keep listening to it and enjoying it.

no it is not. thats all i listen to now. as far as lyrically it is way much better than rap. and your right it is very relaxing. especially if you have been having a bad day. when you turn the music it just makes you calm down. also to me it is good music to fall asleep to. are you sure that your mother knows the difference between rap and r&b??? but also it depends on what artists you listen to. some of them do have the same lyrics as rap, but they just put them to a slow beat. but other than that( which is not very frequent to find in r&B) i love rnb.

Hi I'm Nina and i like r&b music and hip hop,my kids and nephews also like it, i see nothing wrong with this music, I think your mom needs to be updated hey were in 2006 no offens but i'm 34yrs old and i have a 14 yr old son, no i dont think this music is bad..

R&B is good. Just like any genre, there are great songs and bad songs. Creative songs and boring songs. Songs for people of all ages. It's cool.

theres nothing wrong with R&B, there may be some songs that talk about some bad things but i like it. It's not too much like hip hop. I love them both.
