That boils my blood too. Sometimes I take a few minutes to write down a logical, thoughtful answer and the asker just gives the points to someone with a one word answer that doesn't even make sense. I'm not mad at the person with the bad answer, but at the asker because it boggles my mind why they would choose such a crummy answer. But, no one ever said life was fair, right? I just get my revenge by giving the answerer a thumbs down even though I'd rather give it to the asker.

Maybe the person thought the answer was great. What is hideous to you might not be hideous to me.

They are cheating.
It's easy to sign in as another name, ask a bunch of dumb questions and sign back in with your main name and answer the questions.4 hours later you can award the best answer to yourself.
Hell, even Jane Furrows admitted to voting for her own answers to boost her points back when she first started here, and look at her now.

They just want someone to agree with them, even if the answer is completely and ridiculously wrong. They give the points to the person that says what they want to hear.
