Many people are caught up in the outrageous salary he gets. NY fans invariably compare him to their overrated captain at SS and believe that A-Rod...or Pay-Rod...is not worthy of his salary, or a WS ring, blah, blah, blah...but when is the last time the Yankees won a ring? It does appear the A-Rod has not come through in as many "clutch" situations as other previous MVP candidates...i.e. Ortiz in Boston, or Vlad in CA, and has made many more errors at third than he should, but I would take him on MY team...and he would start at SS over Jeter.

A-Rod is disingenuous, underneath it all, that's a big reason people hate him.
He says he didn't go to Texas for the money, when clearly he did! He always sounds like a corporate PR guy talking, as opposed to a person speaking their own thoughts.
He's the highest paid player in the league, batting .287 is not really that great considering. There are about 40 players in the American League with a better batting average than him! In fact, there are 10 other 3rd baseman in baseball that have a higher batting average than him.
For the record, David Wright is batting .306, which is a lot better than .287 (with a slugging pctg of 0.537, versus ARod's 0.508). Wright is batting 0.364 with runners in scoring position, versus ARod's 0.283. Wright is having a much better year.

A-Rod is over-rated, over-paid and undeserving of the MVP title that was awarded him last year. He's trying to play third base and he simply can't perform there at the level that he's expected to especially considering his salary. He's like a square peg trying to fit into a circle.
You can't even compare him to David Wright. Wright is a third baseman, not a short stop trying to fit into a line up. Their offensive stats are similar but consider that Wright comes through in many clutch, game winning situations. David Wright loves his fans and has fun. We sense that at Shea and show him the love right back. But then again, Shea is more laid back, much less uptight than Yankee Stadium.

he just having a bad year, that's all! booing him doesn't help him at all..I mean the fans should leave him alone, he will find his way out of this slump..just give him the time, and give him a break!
I never boo him when i'm in Yankee Stadium or home or whatever..I cheer him up and supporting him as much as I can..true, i can't stop others to stop booing him. But personally i think if u're Yankee fan, u should supporting the players and the team, and not booing all the time when he made mistakes. it just not fair for Alex, he works so hard to find a way to impress the fans...i mean come on, enough already!

it incredibly is by way of fact A-Rod has a historic previous interior the final 13 Yankees playoff video games of no longer coming by using interior the seize. Jeter has shown himself time and time lower back in October. he's Mr. October. If the activity grow to be on the line and that i mandatory a seize hit, i might p.c.. Jeter over truthfully absolutely everyone else in MLB and that i'm no longer even a Yankee fan. until eventually A-Rod starts off putting at the same time a string of hits and good performances, each and each at bat whilst he makes an out, it's going to be magnified 10x greater desirable than those undesirable performances of his teammates.

both a-rod and wright are both indeed great players, remember that a-rod is went to new york as a short stop. now, he is paid about 26 million a year and he is putting out the same as wright, who is a second or third year player who gets paid less then 3 million a year. its all about the money and how the player performs to deserve that money. in reality he should be putting up better numbers than Jeter, but this is not the case, therfore you have everyone booing him. the bottom line is that if he is going to be getting paid as much as he is, he needs to be that one player that everone gets compared to, and not the guy who is being compared to others...

In your description you mentioned everything except the fact that the man is making a quarter of a billion dollars!!!! I don't care who u are, if you make that much money and you're considered the best player or one of the best players in baseball...you will be booed. Does it help? Of course not, but it all comes with the territory and you should at least understand that!

everyone knows he is jealous of jeter and jeter's 4 rings arod has none and will only be remembered for being a sissy and slapping the ball out of Bronson arroyo's glove like the little girl he is the Yankees should do him a favor and trade him to the devil rays so he could hang out with all the other losers p.s. if he wouldn't always stare at jeter's crouch he wouldn't make as many errors Mark Bellhorn is a better player

The man makes millions of dollars a season. He needs to earn it. (I actually thought he made more than that)
Incidentally, if I made that much money, I wouldn't care what people thought of me.
Here is an interesting fact: When A. Rod was traded to the Yankees, Texas agreed to pay him SIXTY-SEVEN MILLION dollars of the $179 million left on his contract. And that's on top of the salary the Yankees are paying him!

Mainly because Yankee fans are fair weather fans, and A-Rod is having a less than good year. Steinbrenner paid a huge sum of money to buy him, and now he is not producing up to expectations. The amazing thing is that Steinbrenner hasn't called Torre and told him to bench A-Rod.
Cheers!!
