i met this guy. i have to admit he is hot, smart and successful. but he is also soo in love with himself. he thinks so highly of himself. always tries to get the attention, wants me to chase him and tells me how people try to pick him up all the time. he is simply too vain.

i wonder if any good relationship can be maintained with someone of this personality?

I was married for a long time to a man like that. HIs selfishness got worse as the years went on. To make himself feel better he belittled those around him.
I always thinkk of that song....."your so vain, you probably think this song is about you....your so vain......."

He will love himself first. You will be like a property he has that is an accessory to his own life. You will gradually disappear.
If you have kids , they will never be good enough. I can't begine to tell you what my kids went through.

the relationship almost killed me. so.bewear.

U have 2 b in love with ur self too, one needing love and one in love with self won’t work
Either
Needs love + needs love = equals a dependant relationship that will last (even if for the wrong reasons)
or
selflover + selflover = independent relationship were to people choose to be together because they like the other person

selflover + needs love = a one sided relation ship, u would always be in pain

Absolutely not. He will always be vain and at the very least will take a long, long time to grow up. Trust me, I've been with a few "beautiful boys" in my lifetime...it won't work...they are just too confused by the attention and yet wanting of it all for you to ever be anything but a tag along to all his vanity and problems.

nope
sooner or later you grow tired of the competition for attention
he is not capable and infact is vert afraid of being alone
he needs the constant reinforcement that other women ( wrongfully ) give him
the problem eventually may never go away even as he gets older and less and less women call on him, this is because he has trianed the mindset to always believe he is right

I doubt if you could have a good relationship in this case but I also doubt if you could have a good relationship with anyone who wasn't a total marchmellow.

Who says that he is more in love with himself than you are in love with yourself.

Usually people say people are in love with themselves if they have a serious problem with their own narcissism. Other people might love to go out with him and say he is interesting and has self-confidence. A rose is a rose by any other name............

He wants you to think all these people are hitting up on him. You should act as though you really do not care. He wants to make you jealous do not play a role in this because if you act mad he will just get worse.

Maybe he'll suffer the same fate as Narsicuss, the one that the God's punished to fall inlove with his reflection because he is so vain, and he died because he is so inlove with his reflection he doesn't eat and sleep......

the song " you're so vain," came to mind when I read your question, and I would have to agree with everyone else... give up on him, and move onto someone who will appreciate you.
