Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostale, American Eagle, Hollister are basically what's "in" right now and is what everyone's wearing. Or anything you find at wetseal, forever 21, etc. is considered the latest trend. Try those two stores, they're cheaper than those brands I mentioned at the beggining and they're very much instyle. You definitly won't go wrong if you shop there, unless you put some stuff together that totally doesn't match. But that's a whole other topic.
It really depends on your style whether you're into the hip-hop style, the laid-back califronia style, gothicy/grungey look, skater style, etc.

It really depends on who you run with and what they like. But I've never been into brands..its too try-hard

just wear what you like dont worry about what other think, i like levi's jeans, maybe not the thing now, maybe they are, but they r comfy and i think they look good
