Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

Every sperm is special from the point of view that the way sperm cells are created each one has a different combination of the genetic material of the father. The same applies for eggs and that's why sexual reproduction leads to genetic variability.
However each cell (sperm or egg) on each own has only half of the genes that are required for a human so it cannot be considered as a "person waiting to happen", as you put it. That would be a fertilized egg, which contains all the necessary genetic material.
In order to get stem cells you don't have to kill the embryo-you just take some cells, even from the placenta... the embryo will replace those cells and there is no damage (you are not amputating it). Nobody would kill human embryos to do research

Yes, every sperm cell is special but it isn't murder unless there has been a union of an egg cell and a sperm. You cannot make a baby with just a sperm cell right? So life isn't formed yet when a guy masturbates or has a wet dream... it isn't murder... humans are made to be that way.

Masturbation is the murder of millions *gasp*
Oh, and I think teh whole murder controversy is based on an egg that has already been fertilized and is developing, so no I don't think killing sperm is a big deal for too many people... THat's like saying having a period is murder...

If that were true, no man would ever go to heaven. In fact, his bed, carpets, curtains, towels, underwear, and everything else within 20 feet of him would be massive graveyards. Or so I've heard...see, I have this friend...
