WARNING: These sites are only as safe as you make them. Don't ever list anything on any site that you're not comfortable having the public know. Unfortunately, we live in a society that includes unscrupulous people with nothing better to do than stalk and torment innocent people just because they found some naive person that listed their address and/or phone number.
We are still living with the backlash of my 13 year old daughter being cyber-bullied by some of her so-called friends last school year. The poor kid is in counseling and is almost scared for school to start in seven hours.
These girls challenged her sexuality, left death threats on her sites (which are now shut down), followed her around school saying that she was a stalker . . . it's been a nightmare. Yet these are the same girls that constantly post their home phone, cell phone, where they will be at any given time and seductively posed pictures on their sites as well as each others!
Just use common sense and you should be fine.
Good luck!

No social information superhighway web site is 'verify approved', yet facebook is way safer, for such an rather good type of causes. The privateness settings are extremely more desirable from the myspace ones, the come across a pal gadget is more effective efficient, the block means thoroughly receives rid of you from an undesirable targeted visitor's view - it is going to likely be as when you're literally not on there in any respect. a lot less popular social web pages are Buzznet, Stickam, Youtube (it has a profile gadget such as myspace yet with videos as you likely recognize), Piczo (that's amazingly little popular, you may want to deliver out pal invitations. it is rather person-friendly to apply), and Xanga (a blog web site) and Blogger. i'm no longer too constructive about their regulations for protection, you'll ought to seem on their FAQs, yet i have used MySpace for a lengthy time period and that i imagine facebook is the suited selection. ^-^ good luck!

Yeah, BlogSpot is better. I've had a blog there for about a year now, it's anonymous and a better way to preserve your thoughts than myspace.

myspace is safe, if you make it safe. you dont have to put any personal info that you dont want people seeing(adress, name, age, school, etc.) so myspace is as safe as you make it.

THE only safe aspect of any "site", as others have said is your own scrutiny or good judgement. There really are no "SAFE" sites anymore UNLESS YOU USE COMMON-SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
