Dogs would become the next dominant creature on the planet if humans ever bit the dust so to speak, dogs by there very nature are social creatures and gather in groups or packs for protection, they are loving creatures and care for there young, even the old are watched over in the pack. Dogs are predators like humans but they don't kill for pleasure like humans do, it would seem that dogs are blissfully enlightened creatures. Heck canines have more redeeming qualities than some humans i know, this would make them my pick for the next sentient race to evolve on this planet.

Insects would not make a meaningful dominant species because of the hive mentality, let say one of them came up with an idea that would change there whole way of life(if they gained sentience that is), and the collective didn't agree with it, it wouldn't happen. And if one jumped of a mountain so would the others to.

After completion of human extinction, all other remaining animals will be living in a balance harmony, as nature has it's own way to keep balances. There isn't any animal that can alter and change the environment to suite it's need like human does.

If you ask more specifically, there will be some dominant animal at the top of the food chain. But that will just be localize and not globally.

It surely is authentic that present day people developed good right here in the international. there is an abundance of evidence to help this. might want to some type of early more suitable sub people have existed lengthy earlier any ultimate evidence for them might want to have survived up to now. certain that too is a danger. might want to this or yet another subspecies of Human been interfered with before via an Alien species tampering with DNA that hence of that tampering, present day people developed? i imagine it truly is a really solid danger. As for being transplanted right here, not likely except it became those sub-humas from before that were extra right here and it became their DNA that became tampered with ensuing in us by ability of evolution. I doubt that people in the international at present will evolve sufficiently to transplant ourselves to a special international for re-inhabitants because it truly is believed that many such more suitable Human civilizations have come and lengthy gone on earth over very few 1000's of thousands of years. Our present day civilization is purely 2000+ years old and could not likely servive yet another one thousand-2000 years earlier it too is a few how destroyed and then it truly is going to commence all once more beneficial. even if it truly is all only conjecture besides as we only don't have any way on understanding for particular. you particularly might want to wish H.G. Wells Time gadget to flow back far sufficient to work out the Histories of each and every of the previous civilizations, perchance 1000's of them to entice close with actuality.

It would have to be an animal that's more intelligent than the other species. It should also be at the top of the food chain to ensure ample food supply. It needs to be aggressive in order to dominate. It must be a primate.

Insects, there are already a lot more of them than us and they have adapted better than we have, by differenciating in to thousands of species.(925,000 species described—more than all other animal groups combined)

My number 2 choice is the Toxoplasma parasite

Half of the worlds population is already infected and the main effect of this parasite is to make the victim engage in activity it would otherwise avoid because of fear.

More than likely, it's going to be a rodent, most likely (and preferably) squirrels. My favorite would be either birds or octopuses...they're both pretty cool and interesting, and not disgusting like rats and cockroaches!

Roaches (insects), they can survive to almost all conditions. They probably can also survive an asteriod strike.
