Well you could make an argument for both sides. You could say yes it's true because sin was a magnet for Katrina which was created by God who creates all things. Or you could say no because Katrina was simply a storm that happened to be blown in an disasterous direction for the citizens of New Orleans.
My own personal belief....the latter. If God wanted to punish locations that have sinful ways then what about Amsterdam for it's sex industry or the Brazilian version of Mardi Gras in Rio De Janeiro or locations in Africa for genocide? You get the point.

No, that is just ridiculous. Hurricanes hit many areas over there. If you say that, you'll have to try to prove that every natural disaster is caused by cities full of sins. How about all of the tornadoes in Tornado Alley? How about the earthquakes that occur in California, Washington, Alaska, and Oregon? There are plenty of natural disasters, but they are caused by nature, not sins. Maybe a better thesis would be about how the 100 year old levees in New Orleans should have been updated before a disaster hit and how the US was not prepared for such an event. It was only a matter of time that this happened. To my knowledge, a manmade structure will not last forever without upgrades and maintenance.

Yes, I think God wanted put a end to New Orleans Dirty ways. So he sent Hurricane Katrina there. And the crazy thing about it is That I live in HOUSTON, and so after the New Orleans came, every school started fighting them and the New Orleans were blamed for everything. Not too long after, Hurricane Rita hit us. And everyone was joking " I'ts following The New Orleans. Send them back! " Crime has increased since they came and now its crowded even more.

No because the hurricane would've sin city (Las Vegas) first. Maybe that hurricane hit New Orleans because it was sent by a foriegn government who knew that New Orleans was a weak spot for natural disasters. New Orleans is a beatiful city with a large population and a nice income from tourism. Disrupt that and you hit a major artery in your enemy. There's a feasible theory for you. Doctor it up and make it your own. Good luck with that assignment.

Absolutely not true. Most Christians will say that it was God's way of cleansing the city, but I disagree. One fact is that the survivors have moved to cities like Houston or Baton Rouge. Since they have moved there the crime has gone way up. How is that solving a problem. It only moved the sin around. Not to mention that natural disasters happen all the time. Those cities, islands, or residents of those places were not all sinners, but also suffered. It was one of those things that just happens. Mother nature acting up again. No rhyme or reason behind it. The world has been going through all of these things since the beginning of time.

u could use that theory as example of another theory, that certain people that are dedicated to their religion/faith disregard scientific fact of natural phenomenon and instead choose to rely on faith to provide reason of what they see as unexplained (as to "why it happens to that particular area") compare that to ancient civilizations where religion was put into practice in order to explain what they could not explain and it was also used to implement a set of moral codes onto society. Then you could go on to talk about how some people/societies haven't changed that much due to that type of reasoning, religion/faith made something bad happen and a punishment.
If you believed that then you could say the terrorists in 9/11 were commended by their god for harming the many sinners in NY city.
