Where are all the skeptics out there?

The term "skeptic" is very misunderstood. A lot of people believe that a skeptic is someone who discounts the existence of anything that cannot be sensed, or measured. Someone who is truly skeptical suspends belief until sufficient evidence is discovered. For instance, I am skeptical about the Loch Ness Monster. That doesn't mean that I think it sounds ridiculous, so I dismiss it's existence based on the fact that the claim is unlikely or silly. I just say that no proof of it is available, and that provisionally, I don't believe it exists. If new evidence became available tomorrow, I would evaluate that evidence, and consider changing my belief, based on that evidence. Skeptics are often accused of being closed-minded, which to me is ironic, as we're mostly willing to change any of our opinions.

I am also skeptical about the existence of extraterrestrials (although it is very possible that they do exist), ESP, ghosts, UFO's, magic, Multiple Personality Disorder...the list is very long

I am skeptical about the present day younger generation who are so well versed in the acquiring knowledge from everything they can get a hand on, not respecting the elders and thinking that they do not know anything. This has resulted in the lowering of the moral standards of society.

I feel that I'm a skeptic when it comes to How things in this world will go for all of us. I don't feel like any President can fix all of this mess that we are in, Rather it be a Republican or Democrat.I feel that the Clear Skies Act was a scam for all of us. When it sounds like this is cleaning up the skies, this means they allow more gases to be released into our skies. I'm very skeptic when it comes to knowing who to trust in the Government and the Law Enforcement. When you feel you can't trust our leaders to do right then we must be in a World of Trouble.

Ok, this is going to sound funny. I am skeptical of any man proclaiming to care about me. There has never been one that actually did, even if that is what they said.

I'm skeptical of politicians, religions, institutions - anything man-made. I have more faith extraterrestrials, channeling, angels, prayer, god, mysticism - anything mysterious. My basic lifelong philosophy, reinforced from years of observation, is that whatever man makes can and will f**k up sooner or later. On the other hand, I've seen prayer work.
