I have come across lots of racism of Yahoo Answer, is this for real or are these people, just bored and trying to **** people off and cause a reaction?

I liked Zero Cool's answer. She hit some good points.

I will just add, racism is alive and well. IT IS REAL PEOPLE, and unless you have walked in our (African Americans) shoes, you will probably want to believe it does not exist. It is so bad in America, it is pathetic.
Out of all of the things we have to deal with (terrorism, gas prices, jobs over seas, people out of work, USA fighting everybody's battles, homelessness, lack of education, people going hungry right here in the USA, pedophiles, drugs, teens out of control, etc.) We as African Americans still have to endure other people's ignorance. I don't really think it is fake because I have felt the racism.
I won't let it intimidate me though. Not for a second!!

Usually people who are so brutally outspoken about how they feel about another race have issues of their own. There is something about themselves that they cannot stand. The name calling and all that. Just like the "N" word, well, some people don't know what the word means. That is why I say they are talking about their "mama". It means a dirty, nasty, trifling, trashy person. I would like to enlighten a few people, ANYONE CAN BE ANY OF THOSE AT ANY GIVEN TIME. THEREFORE, THE "N" WORD CAN GO FOR WHITE PEOPLE AS WELL!! That's why it is so funny!! They show their ignorance and I LOVE IT!!

They will never show their face just like the kkk, always have to be hidden behind something.

They really should be totally ignored!! TOTALLY

If they were not racist, then they would not say some of the things that they say or ask some of the dumbest questions pertaining to race or someone skin color.

Maybe you just see it more here then where you live but racism is real no matter where u go: outside in the real world or on the computer, in business and in neighborhoods, it's not just whites or blacks there r racists everywhere some just stick out more especially on the computer if you don't like them don't answer some people just want attention some r just curious to find out what others think, as the saying goes: DON"T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!!!!!!

I think they are looking for attention. They are either high, drunk or immature youngsters looking for some attention no matter how bad it is. I don't consider it racism until they come up to my face and say the word. A real hateful person wouldn't have to hide behind a computer and make derogatory statements.

Some racism is justified, but not merely because of the color of people's skins, but because of their cultural attitudes.

I don't consider myself a racist necessarily, but I will not make it a secret that I do have some very serious issues with some black people (but not all), but not because their skin is black, but because they have a very hateful attitude and because of their entitlement mentality, which are attitudes I won't tolerate in my own white counterparts, so why should they be given a free pass?

You want an example? I'm sure that some of you may remember Omarosa on the first Apprentice reality show. People like her are the real cancer in our society today.

To Phoenix (five answers below me):

You said "Did I just read someone saying some racism is justified? It is okay to believe a group of people is inferior to another because of their cultural attitude? And how would you know their cultural attitude anyway, if you haven't lived in it? "

My answer: Where did I say that I believe that a group of people is inferior to another" You need to take a remedial reading course, because I never said any such thing. I believe in equality among human beings, but we cannot deny the cultural differences between us and the irreconcillable differences that will always stand in the way of resolving such issues, and the black people (a certain percentage, not all) are expecting us to give 1000% while they won't give an inch. That's no way to resolve any issues. The past is the past and present generations don't have anything to do with the past, and the only way out of this is to meet each other half-way and give 50-50. Blacks simply won't do it. They prefer to play the victim, than to take personal responsibility for their actions. If my feelings makes me a racist, so damn be it. But if that defines me with being a racist, then I will say that MY racism IS justified.

There's a lot of racism because on Yahoo, you're a nameless, faceless, blameless cluster of pixels and data. You can say whatever you want, be whoever you want, espouse whatever unpopular points of view you want, and no one can or will hold you accountable.

As for whether these people are real or fake, I'm fairly certain that it's a mixture of both. I've come across some hard-core bigots in my various Yahoo dealings and I've also had the unforunate luck of dealing with trolls and jerks.

Just ignore it all, authentic or fake. That kind of lame hatred doesn't have to taint you the want it's tainted them.

A little of both probably, I've noticed it's getting worse everywhere in life. I'm sure some are just trying to cause problems, but that would be a good step towards being racist.

Some people like to take advantage of the anonymity that the Internet offers. They're cowards, really. Most of these people would be arrested/fired/killed if they behaved this way in their personal lives.

because they are cowards. They can get on here with some made up name and start bashing whatever race comes to mind and noone will know who they are bunch of sissies if they did that out in public they would be beat up cut up and in the hospital.

That's how we come to know how others think about us and in return we tell them the truth.
I must aid here that we should remain cool at the time of answering racial, arrogant, harsh & ignorant questions.

Because its always out there in the world, it's just easier to be more vocal about it here, because you can hide behind an avatar.
