Ok, here we go...I know a computer has memory, in which information is stored, and a CPU, where the actual "thinking" occurs. Does the human brain use the same parts to store memories *and* to think, or are they separate there as well? If they are the same parts doing the thinking and the storing, would it be advantageous to make a computer part that could process as well as store? Is it better to have parts that are solely suited to one task or that mulitask in regard to logic and data storage?

The computer can't "think". It stores lots of information and it's CPU retrieves and shifts its information accordingly (what program tells it to do). And the human brain is FAR more complex than a computer. There are literary millions of functions/impulses that are carried out in the brain. And the memory storage of the human brain is also by far has more space and capability. Some of the distinct features of human brain are logic (which computer can not do; reasoning (deciding right from wrong) and over all intelligence.

A computer only deals with data. a simple linear storage is the fastest way for it to work
The brain works in concepts and stores its info in several locations at the same time, thats how we can get from a to d with out going b or c first. Ok I sometimes go a to k then v and then d. Oh well

Okay, the human brain is a very complicated system, but in general information is stored in a separate place from where the 'processing' occurs. It sounds as though you are trying to create a more human-like computer. Sounds interesting. We still know so little about the brain. We do know that there are different sections responsible for different kinds of tasks.
One for speech.
One for comprehension of speech.
One for movement.
One for controling unconscious activities (breathing etc.)
One for interpreting visual stimulus
the list goes on...
It is a bit like a bunch of mini-computers all harnessed to a mainframe that decides what to do about everything, and to co-ordinate everything.

Based on the leaps and bounds in computer technology over the last quarter century, it's hard to imagine where the technology will be in another 25 years. But, in my opinion, a computer will never have intuition, or conscience, or self-worth, emotions, and all the other factors that make us aware of our own being - as well as unique.
Can a computer crunch numbers better that the best mathematition? Of course, but that's what machines are for - no different than a diesel powered back hoe can dig a hole faster than the best construction worker.

Comparing computers and human branins is like comparing apples and tommatoes. They are very deffrent. A brain does not record exact images insted they there more like an artis painting an image insted of a photogrpher snaping a picture. If the brain was like a computer then eye wittness testomony would never be questioned in a court of law. And when we draw blanks in our memmory we try to use logic to fill them in. Like an artist we paint an image in our head as we see the world and your memory will always be subject to your reletive perseption of your enviroment. A camera is not nor is a prossesor.

Well, to the point it is likely within decades that humans will get brain implants to augment their memory or thinking ability. In fact, Kurzweil says that humans that don't get computer "upgrades" to the bodies and minds could be like 2nd class citizens. Kurzweil is a nutjob though.
The brain isnt' subdivided so nicely, but yes your basic idea I think is right.
