Earthday is a day to commerate, celebrate, promote, and encourage interest in the environment. According to the Columbia University Press encyclopedia, it is now observed in over 140 countries worldwide, with a focus on issues like global warming, deforestation, and pollution of our soil, water and air.

It's a day to take care of the earth, because some people can only give one day to their planet I guess.

Earth Day is to educate people about the environment.
It seems to me like anywhere you would go in California anyway, Earth Day was very well celebrated, especially in university towns.
But now as of late, I don't see it celebrated as much as before.
People are asleep, I think, about everything. They are relying on our government to decide for everything for us.

Haven't you heard? There will now be 31 days in all months that had 30. (Sept, April, June & Nov). and those 4 new days will be called earth day.

Its where people acctually try and conserve the earth, picking up liter, planting flowers and trees, ect.
