.55 a pack at the Gas Station down the road VENDING MACHINE! drop the change and pull the big long chrome lever (like a fooz ball handle kinda!) Dude was outside pumping gas. You hear the full service bell and you knew the coast was clear! 1980!

I started at 18, only because I promised my mother that I would wait that long. It was legal to send your kids to the store to get your smokes then (1970's - 80's). They weren't hard to get. My brothers started even earlier.

I was 17 and I just went to the store and bought them. That law were you have to be 18 was not enforced then.

I was 12. At that time anyone could buy them from a cigarette machine.

I started when I was 15 at a frat party... but I only smoked when I drank. ;-). made me feel cool, I have given up on that by now though, don't panic

18 and I was old enough to buy my own and therefore also old enough to know better. I finally did the sensible thing and gave up 6 years ago.

15, I used to buy them at the store where my dad got his - they would sell them to me thinking it was for my dad.

15....stole them from my mom, other friends had them...quit when I was 17 when My Grandpa died of Lung cancer...
