There is a medicine called ichthymol that you can get from your pharmacist non prescrip but they usually keep it behind the counter for some reason. It smells like tar but if you put it over the splinter or whatever it is and cover it, it actually draws it out of your skin. Also works if you step on a catus but may take a few days depending on how deep it is. You should remove it or it might get infected.

if its small, and has just been in there a day or so, give it a little time and it may work its way out, or at least turn into a pimple of sorts that would be easier to open. Your body will attempt to expel it, ie, fester. If it doesnt come out in a few days, and its still painful, you should see the doctor..

You know if you can not find anything then put a triple antibotic on it and if there is somthing in it i think it should beil out on its own at least that is what i had to do for a splinner in my foot once. It hurt but it ended up coming out on its own.

Your skin will form a callous around it and it will get worse.
try scraping your finger nail across the area to feel it , if you cant get it out with a needel you can also try pressing duc tape on it sometimes it will stick to small items and remove them.
