Does anyone have personal business experience with paypal? I have heard mixed reviews, but am searching for a reliable and CHEAP merchant account for my yahoo internet business.

PayPal is a great service as long as you familiarize yourself with all of their rules. When you stay within their rules as either a merchant or a customer, their service is equal to other credit card processing services. If you do anything that is outside of their guidelines, you lose whatever protections they offer. Unlike most major card processing services, PayPal has very little to offer in the way of human contact. If you believe you need one-on-one contact, use another service. I ran a small online business for over three years. I started out using only PayPal, but found some potential customers who refused to use that method of payment. I shopped and found a card processing company with rates similar to those of PayPal and that did not require that I guarantee a huge dollar amount of transactions each month. Feel free to email me for information on that service.

Good luck!

If you want to accept credit cards, I suggest working together with Payanywhere. They offer the cheapest commission rates. They have no set up or monthly charges. I have been accepting credit cards using them for more than 5 years and I am happy with the service. You can examine this out at: http://is.gd/payanywhere

They are a division of ebay....the king of internet fee's.

Read through all their fee's and practices and compare to what else you have access too. Sometimes Paypal is cheaper sometimes its not.

Check with your local bank as well about credit card machines or online access for them.

Are you talking Pay Pal? If so, my daycare used it and I never had any issues with it. Unsure how much it cost her...but check into it.
