I just adore classic jewelry! I take after my Gramma. Please, don't waste your money on faux jewelry. It will fall apart five minutes later. Only buy real jewelry like sterling or gold! I never thought I could afford real jewelry. So, I'd go blow $20 - $30 at Claire's, when I could have been buying real gold for the same price! Jewelry Television is spectacular! You can buy real gold jewelry for under $50! They even have a 30 day money back guarantee. It warms my heart to know that the jewelry I buy now will some day be the heirlooms that I pass on to my Children. Always remember, quality, not quantity!

I personally like to have quanity over quality. I have a few really nice pieces, but then I like to buy a lot of costume jewelry. I love to go to claires and the icing..and buy things from there. Found a sale at Claires a little while back and got like 23 pairs of earrings and 1 necklace for 10 bucks.... yeah some of the things weren't like the hottest thing, but i like to have things to match with everything. I love crystal....because it really goes with everything. I think variety is the best. Have a few nice things...have a few chunky things...have a few simple things... have a little of it all...instead of spending so much on a couple of things..

I think expensive jewelry is a waste of money. I like to wear chunky bracelets & necklaces. Buy the cheap immitations. That way you can have a lot of different stuff instead of one expensive thing!

You can never go wrong buying genuine stones and metals. In your case, what's making your amethyst and gold jewelry so expensive is the gold. Amethyst is actually one of the cheaper stones, so you might want to consider getting silver, or gold filled jewelry.
Personally, I can't stand yellow gold--I like silver best, but also enjoy more unusual alloys and metals like green or red gold, and niobium. I'd say my overall style is classy but artsy. (I make most of my stuff.)

I like funky jewelry, but I don't wear much of it. And Amethyst is my birth stone!

i like basically FAKE jewlery because all i wear are necklaces and braceletts (my ears arent peirced) i like big pearls and chains and puka and just like the twead and shell ones you get in like new jersey and the carolinas. i also love rings that are big and colorful. i like to stand out with my jewlery. i say if you like the real thing wait and buy the nice stuff but if your just going to like a wedding or something dumb like that buy something that will suit your out fit but it doesnt have to be great who knows maybe youll learn to love a fake piece..lol.just kidding
