I had a real bad case of hives after I had my daughter and had then for 9 months. Just so you know they can not find the cause of hives (urticaria) in 90% of cases. It could be anything from stress, to something you are being exposed to whether food or environmental some arthritis meds can cause it or a hidden infection something as simple as a tooth infection. You have to go to the doctor and have your blood drawn and rule out certain disorders (for instance Lupus is known to cause hives). I suffered greatly, they say to take Claritin Hives and my dermatologist suggested a skin cream call Sarna......I used neither since I couldn't take the Claritin and I couldn't find the Sarna, I use to cover up and try cool showers.

Sometimes I would get it near my wedding ring and it would swell so much and the hives would start to meld together it was horrible, but as soon as they came they went!!! I could only suggest for you go to the doctor and at least go for the blood but don't be discouraged about them not finding an answer.

Good Luck and know I sympathize with you. :-)
