Think with computer technology this would be possible. Call it right of passage papers. Your infant phto would start it. Possibly with enough genetic materal just for possible future verficication for replacement. The ages are up for debate, but lets say photo at 6, 13,18, 21, 35, 55, 65, 85, 95, 100 Pleole obtaining citenship would start at that time. This opinion question can't find that catogery.

The national ID they keep talking about flys in the face of my privacy. I dont like the idea that someone from the government can swipe my card and know everything from my bank account balance to my medical history to my driving record. Even worse, and hopefully very far down the road is that computer chip that can be placed under the skin and contain all this information. That will be the day that I leave this country.

The system you're talking about here makes sense, but they will probably put an expiration date on it every few years instead of specific ages. Sort of like a drivers license.

I already have a national ID. A few of them, birth certificate, social security number, drivers license, bank number, work ID number, phone number, etc....
When they decide they want to MAKE me have a different number, that is what will break the camels back. NO ONE will force me to have a National ID.

that would be good but that would depend on the money a certain government has...

It can possible with countries that have enough or too much money reserved for its citizens but not good to a country that can't even provide a set of books for public school students....
