I have read about someone who wants to poison stray dogs, put there pet to sleep because it bites, and someone who wants to clip theie cats ears to look like a doberman. Who her ethinks peopele should have to take a psych eval to be anywhere near animals?

well stray dogs aren't *their* pets. And putting a pet to sleep for biting - unfortunately is the law in many areas.
No I don't agree with a psych evaluation. who decides what is/isn't right. Many people who don't relate to people do to animals. Too many ways it's not good and that overrides the good.

Unfortunately anyone can obtain a pet if they try hard enough and pet stores routinely do not screen customers to ensure they understand the responsiblity of owning pets.
Laws to protect pets have little affect and are often hard to enforce or have such small or no penalty the fact is unfit people will own pets and as others said have children.

I wish they would do more research before allowing people to own pets. No animal deserves a life of abuse or being chained up. Animals have feelings just as much as humans but are unable to speak up for themselves.

It's not only pets. People should have to pass a test in order to have kids, too.

I do, but not for those reasons. People put way too much emotional currency in pets and that's a sign of other problems within the person.
It's people they should be relating to, not animals.

I most definitely agree. There are way to many sick people out there who take out their problems or crazed feelings on poor innocent animals who can't defend themeselves. I also think there should be way higher penalties for people who do abuse them, and that they should be enforced.

some places do ask you alot of strang thing but a lot of people dont need pet and some sell to make money

i agree....unfortuantly you dont need to pass any tests to own a pet or have a kid
