A really cute pair of capris because you shouldn't wear skirts or shorts on the first day and than a cute top it doesn't have to be too dressy but maybe a cute teeshirt and a really cute pair of shoes and its always great if you get your nail color to match your teeshirt color on my freshman year first day l wore a really cute pair of like orangered capris with a matching polo from aeropostale and a cute pair of sneakers and l had my nails painted white with orange flowers that matched the orange on my polo and it was super cute

Get yourself some jeans that fit really well (not painfully tight) and some cotton and washable silk button-down shirts for everyday wear. A nice pair of loafers or other comfortable shoes for everyday wear - Travelsmith has wonderful no-iron shirts - and some simple, elegant jewelry. Some timely attention to your hair will help you look well-turned-out even in casual clothes - a really good, low-maintenance cut or style is a good investment. Most people your age are beautiful - they look their very best in clothes that are simple and nondistracting.

(just a suggestion wear what u want to)

do you live near a forever 21 store??? it's an amazing store. really.
you can dress up jeans with accessories. i don't really wear jewelry, but i life wearing colored beads. beads of different sizes and colors to match your outfit. aslo, get lots of big, bright, and and funky earrings. trust me, people will notice and you sill get tonsss of complements. hair bows are really popular right now. so get some of those to go with any outfit. aslo, layered clothing is in. try long t-shirts under a little bit shorter ones. layer tanks over shirts. or shirts over long tanks. roll your long sleeves up to your elbows and layer that under a tee. skirts. if you're not girly. i'm not either. who cares. you want a change. then change dramatically. but you can still be yourself. trust me. you can buy non-girly skirts. get a skirt with a pattern and wear that with a solid tee. i like wearing skirts with a light hooded jacket. i don't know why. i just like that whole short skirt but long sleeves. anyway....that point is. my only fashion advice is to layer layer layer. layer things that you wouldn't normally wear together. go through your closet and try things on in lots of different combinations. you don't need a whole wardrobe change. you just need to spice it up.
oh yeah. and did i mention? 80's is back.

I was a freshman last year and was worried too. It really depends what style you are into. Me personally enjoy wearing tops with about three buttons at the top and a lacy tank top underneath, and a pare of holey jeans.
