I honestly believe it is emboldening the terrorists (hezbollah) even more. Israel should say to hell with france, the UN, and YES, even Rice and defend herself by DESTROYING Hezbollah and her arms. If that means using nukes on Iran so be it. If we're not with Israel on this, then we as a culture will be overtaken by this barbary.

It's not a joke. It may end up being counter-productive.

Shockingly for most of our beloved readers, I must fully agree with you that it is emboldening the terrorists, and feeding into their agenda.

But I'm still willing to give the UN one more chance to try and make it work. It might be a total bust, and all evidence in the past shows that to be likely, but if they can't pull this off, when the entire world seems to support the action, then that would be proof positive that the UN has outlived its usefulness.

And to mark this historic occasion of our (likely one and only) agreement, you end off with the motto of my home state, New Hampshire.

I guess the old saying is true. If you stick around long enough, absolutely anything can happen.

I am in favor of the cease fire, if for only a few days, some lives might be spared.

It is no wonder that the governments of the middle east seem to 'like' or support organizations such a Hezbollah. Groups such as these give the people a voice that has never been heard by the world until the twenty or so years...

I have to say that I was genuinely disappointed in Rice being involved with this joke of a "cease-fire." I realize her job is to be diplomatic, but to the detriment of a somewhat lasting stability in the middle-east? The only way for a "sustainable peace" would be to allow Israel to take her gloves off and pummel Hezbollah and anyone else who threatens her. When Israel is unfettered, she is unstoppable. We could learn from her. Unfortunately for Israel, it looks as though she is learning from us...or at least the liberals amongst us. And even worse, WE will eventually suffer because we enabled the UN to tie Israel's hands in ending the Hezbollah threat. Anyone who thinks they will stop at annihilating Israel has their head up their proverbial backside.
This "cease-fire" should be called what it really is: a "let Hezbollah re-arm" break.

Keep in mind that this is only a ceasefire and not a truce. This war will continue.

This was only a battle in Democracy's war against radical Islam. Afghanistan, Iraq, and Lebanon are all fronts in Iran's war against Israel and the USA. The only option in stopping the spread of the Radical Islamic version of the Persian Empire is the military option.

Yes, Depends on how you view Hesbollah, after all Bush supports the murderous government of Israel, who are prepared to indiscriminately murder women and children in pursuance of a false war.
