I am trying Doctor Scholl's Wart Remover "Band-aids" and it is making my wart turn white. I have had the wart on my finger forever! I have been to the Doctor and he has attempted to freeze the wart off numerous times. Any suggestions? It is embarassing to have such a thing on my finger.

We used Sr. Scholl's Clear Away on our daughter. The wart turned white and it took about 2 weeks to come off.

Believe it or not, some pediatricians found that plain old duct (or duck) tape works as well as some of the other remedies that are more expensive or drastic or both. I used it on a wart on my daughter's toe, and it worked like a charm. You put duct tape on the wart and leave it there, changing it when it stops sticking, starts smelling or once a week, whichever comes first. There are also lots of folk cures for warts, but I haven't had much luck with them.

This is going to sound very strange but it has worked for my family for years. cover the wart with good old fashioned duct tape. change everytime it gets loose and never leave uncovered. Your wart will be gone in less than 3 weeks. Never fails.

You can get wart medicine easily at the pharmacy. You don't need a prescription for it. Just try to ask the pharmacist there.

If the doctor has tried to freeze it off and that hasn't helped then I doubt if the over the counter products will do the job, I may be wrong but I don't think they will.

Your only option might be to have it surgically removed. I know that doesn't sound like fun but it might be the healthiest.

This is gonna sound crazy, but some doctors did a study and found out that putting duct tape on a wart will make it go away.

Dear bsrn ... burn it off with a soldering iron. 1-2 sec on the wart area, don't touch skin, apply triple antibiotic bandaid daily till after it turns black and falls off fresh pink skin will come under burn area and the wart will not come back.. been there done that, got the T.

The biggest problem with a wart is removing or killing the roots deep inside of the skin. My grandma always cut hers out.
