Point 1: The Republicans will not loose in 2006, the Democratic party is as big of a mess as it has ever been, evident by the ousting of Joe Liberman earlier this month.
Point 2: The majority of influential Republicans in the party today are moderate so that they may gain votes from moderate and leftist party. Very few Republicans are from the far right.

The Republican Party has not been kind to moderates since 1964 convention when Nelson Rockefeller tried to speak to crowed did not want her him speak.
This party has been taken over by religious zealots like Jerry and Pat who can make or break a candidate. Don't look for moderates to have voice in the party unless they get rid of the religious bigots who control the party.

IF the Republicans loose the mid-term elections it will be interesting to see. Knowing Republicans in the past there will be a shift internally that will lead to them reclaiming political strongholds.
The democrats have to play this well, they have to be strong. Republican is known as the strong party and the democrats have a real chance here to prove themselves right. That's only if they have the strength, all we can do is sit and watch.

I do not understand how ignorant some people can be. The reptiles, er, republicans will not lose in 006. There is just to much hatred, prejudice, stupidity, and fear for the republicans to lose. They, the conservatives, thrive on all of these and as americans, we have a deep seeded hate that agrees with the republicans. No, the republicans will still hold power. . . . . and money.

They won't be defeated. And If they are I hope more conservative
Republicans take over,. Most of whats in there now don't stand by the party platform, they give in to the left wing liberals too much.

Your premise is flawed. The country is smarter than when your Gore and Kerry were running as candidates. We need leadership in this country, and the world, and it has NOT been demonstrated in the Democratic Party.

That would be nice.
While I still don't agree with much of the Republican platform, at least the old guard fiscal conservatives were rational and had valid reasons supporting what they were trying to accomplish.
