Body Shops need Experienced welders only, if you're just starting in this career its best to get a job with construction or industial mantainence. Your name says sea bee. So if you do have experience in naval Contruction welding you would be perfect for a body shop.

it sort of helps to know how to do a little bit of everything in a body shop,,its not all welding,,most of it is replacing,,and straitening too,,i don't think just being able to weld would get you a job,,and besides,,the type of metal you weld in a body shop,,would be thin metal,,very little thick stuff gets broke and welded,,i wish you good luck though,,you may find a large body shop,,that may need a good welder,,i hope this helps.

there really isn't much welding in a body shop there is spot welding that is done with a gun.the best place to go for welding is a frame shop that works on all frames for modification and repair.if you do get a job in a body shop it would not include painting as it is an art.

Yes. Most welders are not painters and most painters will never be welders. They are both skilled trades and are just part of the over all team.
