I was a huge fan of Archie comics, but have since stopped collecting them, because most of the stories and gags became repetitious.
I must admit though in the early seventies, Archie comics were fun to collect, because they would draw Betty and Veronica so enticing. It was a thrill to watch these two characters fighting to win the affection of Archie Andrews.
It was also enjoyable to see the competition of that Archie and Reggie Mantle had. The were always competing for the girls and just to be popular guy at Riverdale High.
And Jughead, with his uncontrollable eating ways. Jughead Jones was definitely Archie comics, comic relief. That is funny, a comic book having a comic relief.
I believe I outgrew those great books because I got older and the Riverdale gang did not.
Looking back, Archie comics did some remarkable things with its characters. Who can remember when Archie and his friends became superheroes. I believe Archie was called Pureheart. Reggie Mantle, of course was Archie's nemesis.
I also enjoyed the Little Archie books that displayed Archie and his friends as small children.
Did you know that a few years ago Archie and Marvel comics teamed up for the meeting of Archie and The Punisher. It was drawn by John Buscema and a legendary Archies comic artist. It was interesting. I enjoyed it.

I have always really liked Betty because she is so sweet and kind, and Jughead because he is just a cool character-- so it's a tie between those two. Veronica and Reggie are too stuck on themselves, Archie has always been too wrapped up in Veronica to even see straight, & Moose is made out to be nothing but an idiot. I think Mr. Weatherbee is funny, but Miss Grundy needs a makeover. Gosh, I haven't read Archie comics for a long time, but I used to read them with my dad every day when I was a kid. Thanks for reminding me about them! :)

I always had a thing for Betty. Can't understand for the life of me what archie and Reggie saw in Veronica (besides a nice bod and money).

Gotta be Jughead. Also, I know Veronica is kinda stuckup, but she's a pretty hot cartoon babe.

I always liked Jughead. He just seemed like one of the guys and I liked his little crown beanie hat thingy that he wore.
