Thanks Kelly. I know that white is Boston, and red is Manhattan, but my question is I guess for people from Boston, Mass. WHICH type of chower do they prefer? Just curious. I LOVE the white one. =)

Hey Gal,

Let me put it this way.

I have been to Massachusetts many times over the years. I have eaten at many restaurants from Boston to Dorchester.

I have never seen Manhattan (Red) Clam Chowder EVER offered at any of the restaurants, not on the menu, not on the special board, not even in the grocery stores.

So my observation is, they don't even eat Manhattan style Chowder.

Hope you're never hungry for the red when you're there!

Good Eating!

I would never eat red chowder. It's almost impossible to even get any around here, so it's not when you're used to and expect when you order at a restaurant. I would say it's obvious that people from New England, perfer New England Clam Chowder.
