Hello. I'm 13 years old and my friends are starting to be interested in girls, but I have no interest whatsoever. I am a anime otaku and like reading lots of manga and watching anime. I don't want to have sex when I grow up. Is something wrong?

More detail... I really find romance to be gross. I always hated romance and the idea of getting married, maybe I am an erotophobe? Someone who is afraid of romantic relationships.

At thirteen I wouldn't think too much of it, different people mature at different rates. If you aren't interested in anyone in a few years then you probably are asexual, but there's still nothing wrong with that. About one in one hundred people are asexual.

I guess you're just not interested yet. You seem to be in a kid's state of mind. I love anime too, but you might want to take a break from anime for a while and start exploring some other things, especially with girls. It might help, if you are a little worried.

i know a girl, she's fifteen, also an anime fan, does the manga and watches anime, also goes to all the conventions and stuff, she isn't attracted to boys yet...
when she was thirteen or fourteen we were at girl scout camp i told her about a rumor so that she would hear it straight up and not watch everybody talking about her. it was that she was a lesbian, she says "maybe i am, i'm not attracted to people like that yet." so you know, you may not be asexual, you probably just haven't matured that way.

The right person hasn't come your way yet.
No need to rush.
There is PLENTY of time for you.
I didn't date for over 3 years, as late twenty-year old, and the next man I dated after that stint was my husband .
So that worked out. ; )
My friends thought I was asexual through that time I didn't date too. lol
If you don't like romance now doesn't mean you won't like it later.
There's no reason to do things that dont' feel right.
If it feels right for your friends or whatever, then that's on them.
You respect their choices, they can respect yours.

Everybody matures at a different age. My college roommate was never really attracted to guys until she was 19. Don't rush it....things will happen when it's time.

Nope... your just 13... my husband "says" (keyword being "says") that he didn't start getting intrested in sex until he was 15 / 16.
