I always think it is best to go directly to the source for the best answers... If you are really interested make some small talk with this person when you see him out and about... You would be suprised what a smile and a simple hello will begin..

How much do you really think she knows? Why don't you just find out if he is married or seems to have a steady g/f?
If not, ask her to ask him to take your phone number and call you. If she asks him all your questions, what will you talk about when you finally get together?
